I change oil every 3K miles and change the air and cabin filters. I am in no way trying to convince anyone that this is a car to buy, merely informing you what my experiences have been. The dealerships I called gave me estimates of 600 to 900$. I will take it to a repair shop to have that done, for a cost of 250$ as part of the full, manufacturer's 60k mile service requirements, for which the total cost is less than 500$. I am now looking into getting the timing belt replaced before the 60K mile service. BTW, with the suspension work, the car was 4 wheel aligned, and it was off quite a bit. Usually it's the fronts that wear out first. The brakes are good and are wearing evenly, which is not typical for cars. Yes, the suspension squeaks, but we've gotten used to it. All the while, this car gets 31 to 35 MPG on the freeway not bad for a car that'll do almost 110 mph flat out! We've also added the H&R lowering springs, lowering the car 1-1/4" in front and 1-3/4" in back. The tires are hi performance and run anywhere from 30 PSI (Aveo recommended) to 44 PSI. We've increased the tire and wheel size to 195/55/15 with 15圆" wheels.

I will say that we have performed some mods to the suspension. I called the GM service number at 1.800.222.1020 and mentioned the problem, and they said take it into a Chevy dealership and have it fixed.ĭespite all that you have read about this car, let me say that this car has been excellent so far. The car now has 53K miles and, it's having its first problem: erratic clock it goes on and off at will, and now when it does it, it resets itself to 1 o'clock. it was worth it! Luckily the Toyota dealership took the car in on trade so they contacted the original owner for me. I had to find the original owners in order to transfer the warranty, and pay the 50$ transfer fee.

Luckily, unbeknown to myself, when checking the paperwork package, I come to find out that the original purchaser had purchased the GM protection plan that increased the warranty to 5 years, 75K miles, full coverage, with zero deductible. We purchased it from a Toyota dealership as a second car, next to my 2008 Scion xB. We have a 2005 LS hatchback, bought it used in 2007 with 19K miles.
